On October 10th ten young people supported by CATS participated in a Basic First Aid Course. The course, proudly funded by the Ipswich Mayoress Community Support Fund, has provided the opportunity for young adults with disabilities to learn first aid skills and applications. The development of such skills will assist in enabling the young people to respond to injuries, both at home and in the community, to themselves and others.
Many of the young people we support have participated in a First Aid Course through previous grants in previous years, however, for acquired learning to be retained for conceptual understanding and practical application, the education and learning needs to be repeated. The course was delivered by St John, and was both an enjoyable and educational day.
