Getting support with CATS

How can you receive service from CATS Inc?

Requests for Service Support and Referrals may initially occur verbally, face to face, by telephone or in writing.

Requests for Service Support and Referrals may be made by young adults with disabilities, Carers, Relatives, Friends, Doctors, Schools, Service Providers or from any other source.

If vacancies exist the Selection Criteria Procedure will apply. The criteria in which people are eligible for service from CATS include:

  • Young Adults with disabilities aged 16-25 years
  • Young Adults in the transition from school to community life
  • Young Adults who have left school
  • Young Adults with individualized funding packages that meet all other criteria
  • Includes people regardless of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Includes people who have an intellectual disability, physical disability, sensory disability and dual diagnosis (where primary diagnosis is intellectual disability)
  • Live within geographical area serviced:
    • North Lowood/Fernvale/Mt Crosby
    • East to Camira/Springfield
    • South to Boonah
    • West to Laidley
  • Young adults who live at home with family
  • Access to the service will be based on relative need and resource availability

If no vacancies exist the management will provide the referring person with referrals through the provision of information and contact details of relevant agencies and services that may be able to assist, and Management will inform the referring person of the CATS service waiting list.
